VIVALDI DRIVE | MANDURAH

White, bright and beachy are the three words that come to mind when looking at this design, perfectly suited to its Mandurah foreshore location. Two storeys high, the large home is split into two main buildings, both joined together by an entry passage and consists of 3 beds; 3 baths; a gym; a guest living room, and an open plan kitchen, dining and living area. Upside down living lets the owners make best use of the views overlooking the foreshore from the living areas upstairs.

The exterior is comprised of extensive weatherboard cladding. To do so, light frame construction was used on both levels while the home still sits on a suspended slab—something that required a great deal of steel bracing and engineering to achieve.

Inside, a beachy mid-century design was brought through with stunning Spotted Gum timber flooring, exposed rafters, a quartzite island benchtop, and fully tiled wet areas featuring terrazzo and gorgeous fluted-glass shower screens. This light and airy style makes it the perfect holiday-home to spend those warm, summer evenings.

It was a collaborative effort of the architect Will Thomson, draftsperson at Blend Designs, interior designer Jess O’Shea, and the client that brought this stunning home into reality.
