URCH ROAD | KALAMUNDA

Up in the Kalamunda hills, this contemporary family home has found a way to stand-out without compromising on minimalism.

Starting from the street front, it’s clean lines and boxy shapes that catch the eye. White Masterwall cladding frames floor-to-ceiling windows and contrasts with a black garage. Just off centre, a single path splits the home in two as it leads to an enclosed entryway featuring black composite panels.

The theme changes slightly here, with a large European Oak front door that hints to the deep timber browns featured inside. Walnut floors can be found throughout the common areas and bedrooms, while dark timber-look cabinetry spans the hallway and kitchen. The depth of these dark timbers is balanced out with bright white walls and the natural light that floods the space from floor-to-ceiling windows to both ends of the open-plan kitchen, living and dining. Stone benchtops are also a standout throughout, with light Caesarstone ‘Statuario Maximus’ in the kitchen and an Austral Dream Quartzite in the bathroom.

In the master bedroom, clean minimalism is possible with a custom built-in headboard that hides all the electricity points. In the kids’ rooms, custom built cupboards are equipped with desks for studying. All-in-all, it’s a stunning, unique space bound to host many family memories.
